Fishing a ledge - Bassmaster-ND - 09-10-2007 Hey I've been seeing a lot about catching bass on a ledge and I'm a little ![]() Here's two of the lakes that I fish. They are contour maps. Maybe circle them or something! Thanks[cool] [signature] Re: [Bassmaster-ND] Fishing a ledge - Warchild - 09-11-2007 First thing fishing ledges is great action for smallies and larger bass. I like dropshoting down on to the lip and working my way down the ledge. tube jigs are also one of my favs for plastics. I love throwing deep diving crank baits the most. you can work a ledge straight on or across or work your way up the ledge. ledges are just drop offs like say the waters 5 feet deep and then it drops to 15 or 20 feet. I personally like to fish my lures coming out over the drop off. usually fish hold a few feet below the ledge lying in wait for food. Looks like yours has color coded, so go where the dark blue meets the shore. Dropoffs are my faverite in fall fishing, [signature] Re: [Bassmaster-ND] Fishing a ledge - fsh4fun05 - 09-12-2007 There are alot of ledges here in Utah waters. Most of them big rocks coupled with small (2') boulders. I always like to swim a crankbait over the top and then a jerkbait. I'f I'm not catching anything a slow falling stickbait always does the trick, weightless Texas rig. [signature] |
