[signature] Re: [bassrods] Need Smallmouth Calculator - orvy - 09-12-2007 According to that calculator I released the state record largemouth a couple years ago @ Quail Creek. 24.75” long 20.25 girth. I didn't have a scale and didn't plan on keeping her just measured and released, didn't even have a camera, I just stopped by the lake on my way home from work. [signature] Re: [orvy] Need Smallmouth Calculator - utwalleye - 09-12-2007 wow, if that was a largemouth with those measurements then I can say it was a dang big bass. I have a largemouth on my wall that measures 21in. long and 20in.girth, she weight in at 12.0 lbs. later chuck [signature] Re: [utwalleye] Need Smallmouth Calculator - orvy - 09-12-2007 Where did you catch that one? [signature] Re: [orvy] Need Smallmouth Calculator - bassrods - 09-12-2007 That is a good fish, its a shame you didn't have a camera with you, I have seen some toads come out of there nice catch.... . [cool] [signature] Re: [orvy] Need Smallmouth Calculator - utwalleye - 09-12-2007 I caught this fish in suthern cali. in lake Miramar in 1976. I was just 18 years old. she was caught on a nightcrawler and a splitshot for weight. the guy at the bait house told me that this fish is almost once in a life time catch. he then asked me if I was going to have it mounted. after what told me, I decided to have it mounted. then the taxidermy told me that I should have a fiberglass mount made because I was so young and the glass mount would last my life. then I found that drift wood on the upper provo river about 15 years ago and carried it about 3 miles with out setting it down once. that piece of wood was perfect for my fish. later chuck [signature] Re: [utwalleye] Need Smallmouth Calculator - orvy - 09-13-2007 That was a good year for me at Quail, I caught 6 fish over 7lbs, funny thing is I havent caught one since. [signature] Re: [bassrods] Need Smallmouth Calculator - Kayote - 09-13-2007 Bassrods, 4.0 pounds...........Gorge [signature] Re: [orvy] Need Smallmouth Calculator - utwalleye - 09-13-2007 that was also a great year for me. I bought a boat, had no car yet. I graduated high school, fished about 4 days a week in the san diego bass lakes. wow, that was some fun. later chuck [signature] Re: [utwalleye] Need Smallmouth Calculator - d-mack - 09-14-2007 Nice Fish. Having done quite a bit of fish taxidermy work myself, I can really vouch for the fiberglass mount. I have some nice fish mounts that are "natural" and they are starting to look a little rough. There are even some nasty little flying beetle-ish looking bugs that are coming out of the head of a really nice tiger muskie I (unfortunatly) killed at Pineview about 8 years ago (I still regret it). As someone who knows.....IF YOU WANT A MOUNTED FISH, TAKE A FEW PICTURES(now her go) AND HAVE A FIBERGLASS REPRO DONE!!! (AND FOR @#$%^& SAKE TAKE SOME !!G O O D!! PHOTO'S!!!) d-mack OUT! p.s. Kayote, This reply isn't actually directed to you. You just opened the way for me to rant about something I have strong feelings about. [signature] |
