Does anyone know if there are huntable populations of chukar at Hardware Ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon? My favorite spot went up in flames this year, so I am looking for some new places to try.

I have seen several chukars up in Black Smith fork canyon, Most have been on private property but I have also seen some on the WMA. They are hard to hunt up there and aren't worth the hike you'll have to make to get them. Just look for rocky areas that have a good mix of cheat grass. Your best bet is to park at the bottom of each canyon and use a chukar call to locate them. once you hear some, go and get them.

Thanks for the info. I went tonight and found a few but didn't shoot any. They saw me coming and got up a long way away - I think that they are still flying! Man did I hike my rear off to get up to where they were.
