The hundreds of FOR members and friends who responded to our urgent action alert last week helped tip the scales against yet another proposal to build new dams in California. In a special session the state Senate defeated a plan to take more water out of the San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers and to expand the Los Vaqueros Reservoir. But the battle continues. The dam builders may still try to get the issue on the ballot next year. We'll keep you posted when that happens. For now, pat yourself on the back and appreciate the impact you can have on our rivers.
