Tippy Dam - Jaackrabbit - 10-21-2007

We got rained out of Grand Rapids Thursday so we went to Tippy. Quite a few people fishing. We were on the (I think) south side of the river. You guys could have warned me about the 300 steps down to the river !!!

Anyway, fishing was good. Total for us was 1 King, 1 Brown. The Salmon bite was slow but quite a few Coho's were being taken.

See pic of king taken...

thats why I like the north side [Tongue] about an extra 20 miles around to the north side, but to me well worth the trip, I use the handy cap ramp... they would have a hell of a time trying to get my fat bum up them stairs after I ruptured my hurnia...

Glad you didnt get blown away, we had some rough weather both places thursday night..

Hart attack hill ? Just imagine what that climb is like if you limited out !!!
There's a store in Welston on 55 , Pappy's . Same side of 55 as the dam is on just past the credit union a block or two .The next time you go stop in and get a river map , I think he charges .25 or .50 cents for the map but it shows the best holes on the river .
Stormey knows of some great spots on the river and gives pretty reliable information to his comrads . He got me started on salmon fishing and I've been hooked ever since .
Did you fish the coffer or down below the dam ? Best spot in the coffer is just above the power wires to where that tree sticks out .
