Does anyone know when the spawn usually gets going up north on the Beaverhead in Montana? We were up there this past weekend and did not notice any spawning activity at all. How is the fishing once the spawn gets going?

Spawn should be on and beginning to wrap up in certain sections. Big Steamers or smaller nymphs should work but use those and BWO's to target the nicer bows that are holding below the Browns picking off the eggs . Not that fishing for the browns right now is going to wipe out a river or anything it's just that they are pretty tired fish right now and those you release might not make it or put up that great of fight but the bows will.
