Hard to get in - bassrods - 11-15-2007 Why is it so hard to bring up the BFT site???? [signature] Re: [bassrods] Hard to get in - muskyhunter - 11-15-2007 Cliff I have had the same deal. It starts to load then just sits there. I have been going to bigfishfun as soon as it pops up then going over to the left side where the log out button is and clicking mybigfish and then going to message boards from there it seems to work good other then the main page!! They have since done some tweaking and overall it runs faster now. But, individual computer situations can affect how it comes up on your computer.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]There are a lot of differences in computers. Speed of "coming up" can depend upon computer capacity and speed, security settings, spyware and viruses on the computer and other factors.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I am on and off the boards several times a day. I have had no problems at all since the slowdown last week.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]One of the things I do is make a shortcut on my desktop for the main boards I visit most frequently. That saves having to go through the main menu every time.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I will pass along your complaint and try to get someone to check out the potential problem.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Hard to get in - bassrods - 11-15-2007 I've already got it in my favorites. Deleted the temp cookies...got lots of memory on the computer...but BFT still starts to come up and then just sits there. It's really frustrating cause once I can manage to get the site up...it runs just fine and not slow. It's something going on with the initial download. Hopefully someone in admin will be able to look into it.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [bassrods] Hard to get in - iconoclasticPaul - 11-16-2007 dunno if this would help factor in... mine used to take forever on dial-up... I got sick of the world wide wait (www.) so I chipped in for a DSL... makes a world of difference in terms of speed! [signature] Re: [iconoclasticPaul] Hard to get in - bassrods - 11-17-2007 I have Comcast... [signature] Re: [bassrods] Hard to get in - BADFISH - 11-17-2007 some times a caching(cashing) issue arises, let the page load then hold CTRL when you click the refresh button, it may just have an old tracking cookie...different than the temp cookies it uses to go back and forth.....this will refresh/reload/resend current info this also helps when you are not seeing the information update regularly on the screen as well, it is just a click and it re specifys the info to your PC, remember.... hold down the CTRL when you click "refresh" with your mouse....hope it helps. [signature] Re: [bassrods] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 several things that can cause you two bog down. [ul] [li]when our server needs a little cleaning.[/li] [li]the amount of traffic on the site. "number of people on at the same time.[/li] [li]dumping cookies and internet files on a regular baises, BFT places cookies on your site to help with load up time, dumpin them will result in having to up load all the cookies again..[/li] [li]Number of people who are on line though your personal computer server.. "IP"[/li] [li]the amount of junk on your desktop and in your delete folder... your desk top is where all the work is being done when you are on line.. that is where your memory and ram are opperating so just like when at the office if your desk is cluttered it bogs down the amount and quality of work you can expect to get out of your desk top... "hope this makes sence to you"[/li][/ul] [signature] Re: [muskyhunter] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 hope the problem has subsided.. I go directly to the forum index page, I used that link to put in to my favorites... [signature] Re: [ironworker] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 I do the same thing, never log out, logging in and out uses cookies... so I experience the least amount of difficulties, meaning when I come back on I Pass up the chance to pick up a corupt cookie.... [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 sorry I didnt respond to this sooner, I have been off to day deer camp for the last week... hope I have passed along some insite that will help with individual loading problems, only our web master can handle the whole site down problems.. [signature] Re: [iconoclasticPaul] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 I am on dial up still, [signature] Re: [BADFISH] Hard to get in - davetclown - 11-18-2007 I have noticed that when using the refresh button that the site will bog down on me as well... so I tend to stay away from it...
