I don't know anything about the 2000 Mag but I have a Strikemaster 224 and totally satisfied with the service and reliability of this unit.

Hope this helps, I have the Mag 2000, it has worked well for me, just have to be vigilant about using fresh gas and changing your spark plug annually (like most other two stroke motors).

Re: [woodpile53] gas auger question - GEEZER - 11-23-2007

I've got a strikemaster I've had for about 16 yrs. & it's drilled a lotta holes, some of 'em 3'+ up in South Dakota & I just love it. The thing is almost bulletproof, it's fallen off my sled when I had my snowmobile running flat out a couple times & it still has the original blade on it (gotta put a new one on this yr). All I've done is to be sure & dump the gas out of it & run the carburetor dry when I get home from a trip. The thing has never even disappointed me with how it drills let alone acting up.

Don't know much about the strikemaster but I'll second what the Geezer has to say about running it out of fuel. It will save you a lot of hassle as it decreases gumup in your 2 stroke carb.
