flaming gorge or bear lake??? - mclaker - 11-26-2007 I'm going fishing wednesday for the last time until jan... I live in logan and wanted to make the most of it (weather considerations included). I wanted to catch a few lake trout jigging, in hopes for a big one. From the Logan area, which place would you try...why (bear lake or flaming gorge)? I'm no expert on either but from what I've read from the past is that the bigger macks at the Gorge should be biting soon. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong. There are experts that will be chiming in on this one. I want to get to the Gorge to catch some 'pups'. I hope you will post a report on your trip either way you choose to go. Welcome to BFT! I would say it depends on how far you want to drive because you should be able to catch fish at both locations. You could catch more of the smaller lakers at the Gorge but you never know about the big boys if they will come out and play[ ![]() [signature] Re: [wiperhunter2] flaming gorge or bear lake??? - BearLakeFishGuy - 11-26-2007 Check out my latest post on the main Utah board (Bear Lake Fishing Report 11/26/2007) and that may help you decide where to go. I heard of some nice lake trout and cutts that were caught this past weekend on the east side of the lake. It even blew here for a good part of today NW 10-20, though it calmed down late. Forecast is for 10-20 with gusts to 30 tomorrow, and NW 10-20 again Wednesday. Call me Mike. Jim, I've been checking your sight, but no reports since early nov. and not to many pictures (prob. too cold to snap). I was really hoping for it to be hot there. I decided I'll prob. include the family on this one and head to the B.L. unless something changes my mind. I'll give a report when I get back. Thx guys [signature] |
