bullfrog dock fishing report - fencekid - 12-26-2007
ya know x-mas day is usually a real pain in the butt day for me so i decided to do something a little different this year. me and "anglin angel" hit the road for bullfrog at 5:30 am x-mas morning. the roads were awfull. had the 4x4 locked in clear to price due to the snow storm, but the roads cleared up after that. we arrived at bullfrog at 10:30 am expecting to find at least a few people doing whatever but not a soul to be seen anywhere. no employees, no guests, no anglers, no boaters, no ranger or nuthin the whole time we were there. the sun was bright, temps were in the low 40 and the wind was howelling , but because we were the only ones there we could fish anywhere, so we found a sweet spot past the "employees only" sign behind the garage at the end of the houseboat slips over 50 or 60 ft of water facing the sun and out of the wind. got the anchovie rain going and waited for the action to kick in. things started out slow so i ran up to the truck and brought the bbq down and cooked up christmas dinner. hot dogs cooked to perfection with cheez stix and chips. absolutly delicious. one of the more memorable x-mas dinners for sure. turns out that the stripers had a x-mas dinner planned elsewhere. we fished from 11 am to 5 pm, chummed 8 bags of chovies and only caught one striper. never did develop the frenzy we are use to. nice fat fish though, 27" 6.5 pounder. (my biggest yet, what a x-mas present!) we made it home by 10 pm. so lets see, 10 hrs of driving, 6 hrs of fishing, two close friends and one fish on x-mas day. was the trip a success you might ask. you better believe it. we had a blast. this christmas day won't soon be forgotten

Wow, you and the Angel sure are some diehard fisher folks. Sounds like a great way to spend Christmas day, too the fish did not come out in big numbers but at lease you caught one nice striper. Did you get a picture of your fish? WH2
