Pat Seminar Schedule 2008 January 19, Noon Winter Fishing on the Thames with Bob Sampson Local Author gives you the how, where and when to fish for striped bass during the winter. Extend your season! Bob will also be signing books. February 2, Noon Better Bottom Rigs with “Q”Kresser Learn how to tie superior rigs for fluke, porgies, sea bass and blackfish. This workshop will show both the beginner and expert some proven rigs you can make yourself that are better than any factory made rigs. Don’t wait until summer to learn this. February 9, Noon Trophy Striper Fishing with Capt. Mike Deskin Local charter skipper talks about proven methods that have taken some jumbo bass year after year. Learn some tips that work on the local reefs and rips. February 23, Noon Making Bucktail Jigs with Pat Abate and “Q”Kresser This demonstration shows how to mold, color coat and tie one of the most time tested and effective lures for striped bass, blues, fluke and sea bass. March 8, 10am to 4pm Striper Surf Day Our annual festival dedicated to catching stripers from shore. Notable surf rats such as “Crazy Alberto” Knie, Zino Hromin and Adam Romagna will inform you on topics from how to catch bigger bass to collecting the lures that took them yesteryear. There will be tackle reps and sales. March 16, 1pm Reel Repair Clinic with Ed Gregan Learn the basics of reel repair and maintenance with our reel mechanic. April 12, Noon Trolling the Tube and Worm with Pat “T-Man” Renna The maker of the most popular lure on the shoreline discusses some tried and new techniques on taking bass of all sizes on a simple trolling lure. If you haven’t tried it or would like to improve your skills make sure to attend this seminar. April 19, Noon Casting and Jigging for Tuna with Capt. Andrew Cummings You too can catch school bluefin tuna from a small boat with light tackle and techniques. Capt. Cummings will discuss butterfly jigging and other proven methods to take tuna from Stellwagen Bank or the Canyons. This method also works well on striped bass, fluke and other local fish. April 28, 8am to 3pm Saltwater Fly Fishing School with Lou Tabory and “Q”Kresser A full day of learning the techniques and tricks of saltwater fly fishing both in the classroom and on the beach with hands on instruction from experts. Fee is $140 and includes lunch May 3, Noon Castnetting for Bait with “Q”Kresser One of the most effective methods of catching bunker is with a cast net.
