Maximum allowable is about 150 pixels. I am attaching a resized pic for you. Send me a PM if you need help changing it.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I lived in Chandler for several years and fished Saguaro a lot. Butcher Jones was my favorite spot. The protective buoy line to keep boats at wakeless speed made it a better place than around the main launch area nearer the dam.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]It is still too early for much good fishing. If you have a good sonar, you can kick out to the 40 - 50 foot depths...in the channel by the buoys...and sometimes find some deep largemouths or yellow bass right on the bottom. [/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Most of the fish stay out in deeper water (with the shad) until the water warms above the mid 60s mark. That is usually at least the middle of March or later. Some of the best fishing for all species is through the month of April. You can get largemouths shallow, all around the lake. Yellow bass and cats roam the area from 6' to 15' deep...with 12 feet being about the best depth to target.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Depending on the lake level, fishing out around the no boat buoy line is usually a good bet...both inside and outside. That is just past the weed line and the depths are usually just about right.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Saguaro Lake Fishing - ScanerTube - 02-21-2008 Thank you TD for helpng me with the resizing the picture. I will head out next week to Bucher Jones and try fishing at the depth of 12 feet. What do you think about using minows at that depth ? what method should I use using minows... bober ? There should be some crappies around the docks early in the morning for your minnows. Also in shallower water, catching some sun, anywhere you can find a stick or two...like in the NE corner of the cove.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]You can also kick up past the dock and around the corner into the cove on the far east end. There are often crappies and yellow bass back there early. Sometimes some shallow bass on warm days too.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I seldom fished live minnows. But, whenever I could net some shad they worked really well. When they die, you cut them in half and fish them on a jig, bouncing them along the bottom.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Actually, I usually save a few small yellow bass and fillet them and freeze the fillets for bait on the next trip. I cut the fillets into 1 " strips, soak them with some shad oil and some salt, and use them on small tube jigs. You can catch almost everything on those. Use white, pearl or blue and white jigs.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]At this time of year I fish mostly right near the bottom. But, if you are fishing with minnows, hanging them a few feet under a bobber is not a bad idea.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Hope the weather is good for you and that you find some fish.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Saguaro Lake Fishing - ScanerTube - 02-21-2008 TD, I saw couple pictures of you catching cat fish, did you fish on the bottom using worms or minow ? I will try to catch anything that might bite this early in the year... [signature] Re: [ScanerTube] Saguaro Lake Fishing - TubeDude - 02-21-2008 [cool][#0000ff]We caught lots of nice cats in Saguaro. Most of them we caught while fishing for "anything". We bottom bounce with small jigs with the white bass meat on them...or a piece of nightcrawler...and we never know what is going to hit. Once you set the hook in a big cat though, you definitely know that it is not a yellow bass.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]I still think it is a bit early for really hot action, but there is almost always something in some part of that big cove. You just have to learn the spots and how to fish them. Doing the research is the fun part.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Below is a picture from late April one year...with the Kennebec I used to fish from. It contains a mixed bag of crappies, yellow bass and channel cats. I also released several bass and a couple of trout that day. Probably also had some large bluegills in the basket. Almost always some nice ones around the big point out on the right side.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Saguaro Lake Fishing - ScanerTube - 02-21-2008 Wow, thats a lot of fishessssss.
