Boat motor question? - deepcycle - 03-08-2008 Do any of you own, have you owned or know somebody that owned and mercury optimax engine 200 hp range? Looking to buy one just wanting some opinions. Also what's the boat shop's name and number in Hyrum that works on motors that you guys talk about that does such good work. Thanks! They have much better fuel economy than the electronic fuel injected (EFI's) and are worth the extra money up-front. With gas at $3+ per gallon, the extra up front cost will pay off in no time! If I had an EFI, I would trade up to an optimax if I were a Merc guy.
