How is "Bountiful Pond" fishing? - raymariner - 03-19-2008

Has anybody been to Bountiful Pond lately and how was the fishing condition? I think they start stocking fish in spring, and I especially like the cat. I want to make sure there are some actions before I make the trip. Anybody has any info to share?

I have been out there 3 times, all floating, didn't see any action on the finder other than carp (most likely - because they were divers) and had nothing as far as warmwater stuff goes, did nail a couple carp in the dorsal fin though with a crankbait.

Some dude on the shore said he caught a "mooski" though, that would explain why there is nothing left other than carp. Water temps when I fished were 38-45.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It is true fishing pressure is very high over there, and fighting crowd is not fun. Spring is the only time I like to go there. I will wait a little bit since no stocking yet.

I always launch my pontoon at the boat ramp where those dudes fish, only about a foot deep to the north there now since they started the highway. I fish it when I dont feel like driving and just want some serenity, it is a cool spot, not a huge number of fish, but still nice to be outside.
