Are these lakes ice free?? - Jacksonman - 03-27-2008 The stars have lined up in my favor: my wife is gone all weekend, mybirthday is on Saturday and I will be finished with two major prijects. So this Saturday will be an all-day fishing adventure. I am in the mood for my first soft water trip of the year and am wondering if these lakes are ice free: Mill Meadow and Forsyth by LOA, Utah Palies and Nine Mile by Manti I just received a 2.5ft remote control boat that I am going to set up for fishing, both trolling and with bait and a bobber. Also, I wouldn't mind one last ice fishing trip up to Flaming Gorge - is there fishable ice at Flaming Gorge still and if so where? My ideal plan would be to fish Forsyth from 6-10, Mill Meadow from 10-12 and Otter Creek from 2-5. If not Forsyth and Mill Meadow, then Palies and Nine Mile. Just wondering if this is doable?? Might have to join Orvis and his group at Otter Creek if all these other places are frozen. Thanks in advance for responses. I was there a couple of weeks ago and there was only a little open water. We caught several tiger trout out of Palaes last Friday including two 20 inchers and a lot of smaller rainbows and cutthroats. The big tigers were caught on minnows, all others were caught on a silver jakes all from shore. Nine mile was completly ice free but water level was very low for some reason. I bet, though, that both would be fishable this weekend.
