Sorry it took me so long to post.. Been busy since I got back.. Went to Shelter Island Pier 5 times while I was down in SD from the 6th to the 12th. Fishing was slow but fun, I caught a couple every day, a few smelt and a few mackerel. My little brother caught a skate about 24" long, but since he only had 8# test and we didn't have a net or anything, his line broke about a foot below the pier and it went splashing away before we got any pics.
We had a lot of fun though, and I will definitley be hitting the pier again next time I am in the area, thanks for all your tips.
I watched a few dolphins jumping in front of a cruise ship one morning and a pesky sea lion eating all the fish that weren't biting for me, I loved it down there, can't wait to get back
