"Stewardship" students to learn nature-awareness skills - FishNews - 07-15-2008 BILLINGS - Children can learn to experience nature while walking like a fox and watching like an owl. Such nature-awareness skills are part of the Monday, July 14, session of "Earth Stewardship for Young Folks" program at Pictograph Cave State Park south of Billings. <br>The session runs from 9 to 11 a.m. each Monday through Aug. 25.<br> <br>Each week storytelling and nature-based activities will focus on a new topic intended to help children develop a relationship with the Earth. Participants may attend any or all of the sessions.<br> <br>The program is free, but space is limited. Reservations are encouraged by calling Pictograph Cave State Park at 245-0227.<br> <br>Future programs include:<br> <br>July 21 - Animal tracks<br> <br>July 28 - Become a junior ranger<br> <br>Aug. 4 - Un-nature trails<br> <br>Aug. 11 - Archeology<br> <br>Aug. 18 - Snakes, frogs and other reptiles<br> <br>Aug. 25 - Storytelling - What's your story in nature?<br> <br>Pictograph Cave State Park is open every day this summer from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is no charge for Montana residents, but park fees may apply for non-residents. |
