Drift line - captmicha - 08-22-2008
This is probably a stupid or a newbie question but how do I stop my line from drifting besides using a smaller float and a heavier weight? Does the type of float make a difference?

Heavier weight should do it if the weight is sitting on the bottom, otherwise there's not a whole lot you can do to keep it from drifting when using a bobber.

Drifting is not a bad thing. It is a better presentation if your bait is flowing with the current. Adjust your float/bobber to get your bait just above the bottom or just above the weeds, depending on the situation. Let the bait drift with the current...the more natural the better. Try different things...have fun!

[#008000]2. What kind of drift are you talking about - casting from the bank of moving water (stream or river), casting from the shore of stillwater with windy conditions ?[/#008000]

[#008000]3. What species are you targeting ? Trout, catfish, bass, panfish etc. ?[/#008000]
