I went Walleye fishing for the first time this past summer. I was fortunate enough to go with a guy that is an avid Walleye fisherman, so yeah, we caught a lot of fish. Anywhoo, I voted food fish. In my humble opinion, Walleye are not good fighters. It was more like hooking an old boot at the bottom of the lake. However, again in my opinion, Walleye is the BEST eating fish I've ever had. Literally. [signature] Re: [LordoftheFlies] Walleye - davetclown - 02-21-2009 looks to me like we have matching opinions, tho the bigger the walleye the bigger the boot... LOL to me they are like a giant perch. one walleye can make a fish fry dinner for the whole family. the sporting part to me is finding them, then getting them to bite. I fish for them in the detroit river weaving and bobbing between the ocean bound freighters, so I guess I get a little added sprort there... Bouy are them things huge!!!!! And they cant stop!!!
