Bear River 10/28 - bottomwatcher - 10-30-2008
Hunted the outskirts of the refuge on the lake and the birds were rafted up pretty heavy in the open water. Lots of big flights coming off the flats just a little too high. Had a few lookers but most of them were pintails. The first 2 that came in we were done and had to watch the show after that. Still scratched up a decent hunt. Took a while longer than I thought. Ended up with pintails, mallards and teal. We saw about 300 snows in 2 different flocks. I just wish they would fly over me one of these years.
