Kayak fly fishing - richardc - 01-29-2009 I have decided to try fly fishing from a kayak on a small lake. Does any one have suggestions or comments about stability of the kayak and what rod length is practical for a 14 ft kayak? As far as rod length, I don't think it would matter much, because you are mobile. A nine footer would give you better distance. On the other hand a kayak is quite Mobile more so than either of the above two.
