Pineview overview? - davefishman - 02-10-2009 My Dad is coming for a visit from Rexburg, Idaho. We do not have much crappie in that area and to tell you the truth I have never fished for them. My Dad has and he really wants to catch some of them with me. I have heard that people were catching them earlier in the season in the narrows. Then there were several reports about people having a hard time parking there. How accessible are the narrows and could I take my aging father down there? If I can't, can I take him somewhere else where I can catch a few slabs? Any help would be appreciated. If you don't. there were some people who caught them off of CP. You might ask them the area they were in. I have only caught perch over there. If you can get down to the Narrows, i would be glad to help you out with an area to try. Shoot me a pm if interested. Another option is Newton. They are not as big but easier to get to and catch.[ ![]() [signature] Re: [lunkerhunter2] Pineview overview? - davefishman - 02-10-2009 Thanks for the reply Lunkerhunter2. The Crappie were suspended just of the bottom in 35' of water and the perch were in 25'. Be sure to get there a little before dawn for the best bite. I'm not sure how the road is now after this snow storm, but on Sat. the first parking lot was accessible for cars and the second one would be ok for a 4x4. By the way, Rexburg is an awesome place for a fisherman to live! That's where I go to school but right now I'm home for my off semester. Good luck and tell us how you did when you get back.[fishon] Re: [Kevin_VanDam] Pineview overview? - Springbuck - 02-10-2009 What are "the Narrows", exactly? I've been to PV a hundred times, but I'm not familiar with the name.. There are two pullouts on the south side of the narrows before the dam (probably not plowed) and one on the north side plus a small parking area just north of the dam near the caretakers house. So far this year I've tried to avoid the narrows because of the heavy pressure it's received. There are crappie all over the lake in 30+ feet of water |
