Continued the hunt for pre-spawn crappie yesterday (sorry for belated report). It seems as if the up-and-down water temps of the last week or two has them a litt bumfuzzled.<br /><br />We started out hot... caught quite a few fish the first hour, and then the bite just fizzled. Then the predicted wind kicked in hard about 10:30 or so. We toughed it out another hour or two but finally bailed.<br /><br />Final catch was between 20 and 25 crappie... but only 9 good keepers. It was a mix of black crappie and white crappie, far different from last time I crappie fished two weeks ago and the catch was almost exclusively white crappie.<br /><br />Used a typical pre-spawn trolling pattern... long lines, 16th oz. tube jigs. White/silver was working very well yesterday.
