Bear lake help... - jplacquay - 03-01-2009 I want to hit it in the afternoon on the 1st. I was thinking about taking the boat and bring the kids along. Can I launch at the south boat ramp? If not can you tell me how to get on the water? Thanks [signature] Re: [jplacquay] Bear lake help... - fish1on - 03-01-2009 South boat ramp?? The state park marina is open as well as first point and cisco. The dock is out at cisco but first points is still on the shore. Boats, kids, ease of launching...I would suggest the state park marina [signature] Re: [fish1on] Bear lake help... - jplacquay - 03-01-2009 Thanks for the info, but where is the state park. I looked on google maps but I can't find the boat launch. [signature] Re: [jplacquay] Bear lake help... - lunkerhunter2 - 03-01-2009 Take a left when you get to the stop sign in Garden City. It is about 3 miles to the north from there. We take the wyoming route when the weather is bad but you should be fine going up Logan canyon tomorrow, just watch out for black ice[:/]. Good luck, we will be looking forward to your report. I mean, to hit Willard, or mantua or even pineview with the kids is no big deal, but I would hate to take on a 2-3 hour drive just to have the kids (4 and 6 years old) tell me they want to go home after 1 hour. Besides I wouldn't be able to leave until noon, so that puts me on the water at 3pm and then I need to be home by 7pm so at best it would only give me 2 hours with lines in the water. I might just have to wait untill I can make the trip on my own, or with one of my buddies, while the kids are at school. That way I will have more time to find the fish. Even if everything goes good and you don't have any problems that is a long way to go to only fish a couple of hours. From my experience, most boat problems usually happen in the cold temps of winter or the first outing of the season. It is likely that one or two of the local lakes will be ice free in a few more weeks, might be worth waiting[ ![]() [signature] |
