I have a 1436 jon boat,I haven't mounted my oar sockets yet but know the general vicinity of where they are going to go. My question is, do you sit forward or backwards while rowing?

the action of rowing is backwards, that is, the force of rowing propels you backwards, you should sit with your back to the bow (front) facing the stern (rear).
