Orvis Rods - Dryrod - 04-05-2009 [font "Garamond"][#008000][size 4]Had an opportunity to test Orvis's new Helios Ion Rods at their demo show. Tried out a 6wt rod first which I found very similar to my Zero Gravity rod. While I am not an accomplished caster,and I don't think that Quasimodo would ring any bells if he saw me casting, I was able to get the line out about 60' without any effort. However, when I tried out their 6' 2wt I didn't like it at all. I have a 7' 2wt Thomas & Thomas which I really like. Oh yea the 6wt with a CFO III would set one back about a grand.
