I met Taz and his son Kaizer at the CFF bass tx last saturday and Kaizer asked me if I would take him crappie fishing sometime and this morning was the time. I only had from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm to fish, so the time was short. The wind was contrary. It was whitecapping when we started in the river and whitecapping when we quit at 2:00. The places that I wanted to check out for the upcoming tx were impossible spots to fish with the gale like winds that we had, so I just took him to some isolated from the wind docks and tried our luck. I wasn't expecting much, but we did catch 12 crappie, 5 bluegills, 1 yellow bass, 1 nice keeper largemouth, had a long distant release on a spot at the boat, and my line got slimed with a bluecat the twisted off at the boat. Panfish assassins were what we caught our fish on today. On a bright note, I think that most crappie were keeper sized. I would have been proud of about 4 of them for sure. The other 8 were barely over 10". Mike told me that they were the biggest crappie that he had ever seen. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
