STEVE B, Chikamauga, Crappie, 4/14/09, Solo - FishNews - 04-15-2009
I live in a small holler protected from the wind and around 3:00 this afternoon convinced myself that it was a good time to fish ( or at least a good time to put off digging holes in the yard or finally writing that IRS check ). In 1 ½ hr I caught 9 between 11†and 13†on various colors of ringer stingers. Most of the fish were in 20+ feet of water on a 4 count, but they had to be convinced to bite. The “pause and twitch†had to be just right or no strike. I’m positive I would have liminted out except:
1. The wind was blowing a bow in the line and the boat was bouncing so much it was almost impossible to detect a strike.
2.. I didn’t wear enough clothes.
3. The boat seat didn’t look wet, but mine soon did. |
