Silver lake is a great place to get away that is real close. I take my kids there all the time, sure fire action off salmon eggs from the shore.

Glad to hear your report and that the catching was good.

My all time favorite for silver lake is to fill a casting bubble all the way and then a small dry fly or a salmon egg (balls o fire) about 20 inches after the bubble. I try to use the single egg hooks. We knock them dead every time, although we do not keep them, the kids have a blast catching them. Last time I was up there was with polokid and we caught about 15 or more in an hour between 3 poles in the water. I have also done very well with a small jakes lure, brass or silver, out in the middle away from the shore.
