When the "Keep" or "Fire" Phil Fulmer debate was going on, I was betting they'd keep him one more year... which means I lost my bet with BPrice. emoDoh

So I owed him a fishing trip. Never one to welsh on a bet, today was the day. He and his ladyfriend, Amanda, are headed out on a little road trip... first stop Chattanooga and Chickamauga Tailwaters. Of course the hope was to get Amanda hooked up with a big blue. We did that pretty quick with a 10# fish that she quickly followed up with a 19# fish. Not light tackle however... we started out with the big stuff in deeper water in hopes of a real bruiser. Sadly after two quick fish... that bite died.

Even more Sadly, TVA had all four generators screaming... 46,000 cfs... which absolutely kills my light tackle bite. emoBang We messed around and caught a couple of small cats, but BPrice had said before we went, "I'd love to get Amanda in on some of those bull bream." So off we went.

The monster bluegill did not disapoint us. emoApplause We hit a couple of places before we sort of struck the Mother Lode. We weren't keepin', so I have no idea how many we caught. It was many, many dozens at least... and lots of those bruisers you couldn't get your hand around. BPrice was really regretting not bringing his filet knife along. emoBooHoo

We had a blast... but now for the bad news. I was in one of my horribly disorganized funks this morning and forgot my camera. emoBawl Of course BPrice had one, so Doc, I swear we do have photographic evidence. But you're going to have to until BPrice gets back from the road trip to see 'em.

Oh yea, more bad news. According to TVA web site they're about to open spill gates... which is going to pretty much wipe out the tailwater bluegill bite until the water settles back down. But we needed rain... so life is good and gettin' better everyday.

(P.S. These aren't fish caught today... but it hurts my heart to post without some sort of picture, so just pretend these were the ones we caught today emoBigSmile )
