djbogle, Nick tailwaters, Blues, Channel, Drum, 5/7, Solo - FishNews - 05-08-2009 Hit below the Nick this morning. Spill waters were roaring!! Never fished it like that before. Quite an experience! There was a boat in there when I arrived, but he bugged out pretty quick.

Finally made it to the wing wall, netted some yellow-fin, and hooked a huge drum on the first cast. I was going to try and keep a record of how many drum caught and their weight, but I quit counting at 12, the smallest was 12 lb. and two were over 20 lb. Probably caught that many more after I quit counting. Also caught 7 channel cat from 2 - 6 lb., and 3 blues, 18-4, 17-6, and 7-12. Sorry, no pics. nobody was there to take them.

The real kicker is that I broke my Berkley Power-Rod on one of the drum. I've had that rod for many years, and it's put a lot of fish in the freezer. Oh well, shat happens!! emoBadLanguage |
