<br /> Shane and I hit the water around 3 or 4 this afternoon... it was emoHoppingmad out there.<br /> <br /> Since it was so hot today we decided to try for a topwater bite. We found quite a few shallow fish and whooped several on the toad. Caught our first 4 keepers out of 6 or 7 fish by 5PM with them going about 8 pounds. Big fish was a 19.5&amp;quot; spaaat with a belly that went about 3.5lbs... also landed a 17&amp;quot; LM that probably went 2.5-3lbs. <br /> Then the topwater bite just completely quit after 5 this evening emoScratch <br /> So we decided to go deep. Fished in 15FT all the way to 35FT of water and picked up another 5 or 6 spotted bass that would all measure. The biggest of the last 5 or 6 was about 17-18&amp;quot; went close to 3lbs... it also had a good belly on it. So by dark we had a good bag if only we were in the dogfight. Best 5 went around 10-11lbs. <br /> I dont know why the topwater bite stopped all of the sudden but it was the best topwater bite Ive had up there in about a month. So maybe it will be picking back up again... But thats all for tonight, nice evening to be on the lake again.
