Boy you picked up some hogs! Congrats! Didn't realize that place had fish like that. Any other species in there?

Those are small for Stansbury, I have caught many twice that size in there. Nice fishing and keep at it and you will find out what I mean by small for there. Fish with a 10" worm all day and see if that improves your size... Good day on the water...

I would keep that info to yourself or risk every Tom, Dick and Hairy out there and ruining it. They ruined I-80 within a year and it was 3 times better than here. The numbers of good fish have gone way down due to all the guys keeping them.

They get anymore pressure and nobody will be allowed to go out there [Wink]

The cops were out in force a few weeks ago busting non-residents. Good luck.

The Stans bass love jigs.

All you need is permission from a home owner. I would suggest just asking. Most people are pretty good people as long as you respect them and practice catch & release.

I live there. No permission needed. You technically have to fish out of a boat with a stansbury sticker, so I guess you will be OK if you get a homeowner to let you borrow their boat with a sticker you will be fine, but good luck.

Re: [elgallo] Pitchin and Flippin for Largemouth. - JustinRobinsreo - 08-14-2009

You're right you do have to have a sticker permantly attatched to your boat. However in your HOA by-laws it states that all a guest has to do is have the person who allowed them to fish be available to confirm that they are a guest of that homeowner and were givin permission to fish as their guest if anyone challenges their authority to be on the lake. I am not saying jump on a boat and fish away...but as for shore fishing on the homeowners property with their permission shouldn't be problem.

Re: [JustinRobinsreo] Pitchin and Flippin for Largemouth. - zack801 - 08-14-2009

I've fished stansbury a bit over the last few years from
shore and from a friends boat who lives out there and have never been harrassed by the police or residents. Just don't go walking through peoples yards and be respectful and I don't see a problem. But I also don't want to see a bunch of random people hearing about this lake and thinking it's ok to go there and destroy it like some lakes and especially community ponds.. The pond is fun and awesome to fish and I hope it stays that way.

I agree Zack! I hate seeing a grea lake or pond get trashed by people who don't catch and release or respect the property. Thanks for the input!

Or by non-residents who shouldn't fish there at all...

DUD, you sure are protective of that piece of water. You sound like you should work for the farm bureau or Rep. Ferry.

Is it true that the lake is fed by a stream? Why can't someone access the stream via an easement and then follow the stream into the lake. I'm sure Tubedud has accessed "private" stretches of river since the conatser decision last year. How is Stansbury different?

You guys should organize a "fish in" to protest this BS. Tomorrow would be good, I hear the world champion Yo-Yo dude will be there. [Wink] Anyway - thanks for the laughs the last few days.

Or by some kids that live there that seemed to find it amusing to catch blue gill and bass and throw them across they street [Wink]

Re: [zack801] Pitchin and Flippin for Largemouth. - TubeDud - 08-15-2009

Here's my stance. I fish the pond more than anyone out here hands down. I choose to fish out here because of financial issues, and YES I am very protective of it. I pay a mortgage every month that allows me to fish here. Period! It is not fed by a stream, and conaster has nothing to do with this piece of water. There is no navigable water running into, or out of it. My neighbor is a Sheriff, and lets just say that things are about to start getting interesting especially on the weekends out here. Come on out and see what happens.
