high speed pursuit in FT. - peter805 - 08-12-2009
So, now that I got some sleep from yesterday 14 hours
of fishing yesterday, I can post some more.
I funny thing happend. It was about 7:30 PM and life
guard came by on the boat to friendly tell me
that the lake will be closing in 10 min. Ok, I replayed.
Well you know how it goes- one more last cast, one more
cast and one more.......[
]So, now I see the yellow boat (life guard) coming at my
with the red and blue lights and warning siren going off.
He comes right to my side and starts almost yelling
that he told me to get off the water 15 minuts ago and
that I dont have any running lights and stuff like that.
Ok, Ok I told him and started moving to launch ramp.
Well, he is going right behind me with the red and blue
lights going off and talking some BS and hes radio and geving me really ugly looks.
Well, I dont think that he tought that its going to take that long to go that 1/4 mile, because he did not look too
happy. When we got to the ramp there was a hand full of
people doing they thing with boats and yaks. They all
see my coming in at "high" speed of 1 kick per 3seconds with the red and blue lights right behind me and a SPOT
LIGHT now.
Well it was a show like not any other. After that some
guys came up to me and ask what was up with that.
I just told them that maybe he was just not having a good
day or something.
Oh, one more thing. I was going to take a picture of him
with the lights and all but.....................[

Yeah, you are right TD. It was my fault. I just think that
he overeacted just a little. There was no need for
red/blue lights, siren and spot light. Maybe his just
a lifeguard on a power trip.
The other day on the same lake a girl lifeguard asked me
if I have lifejacket on board wile I was wearing my PFD !
( most times I just have it behind the seat)
I told her, yes I do and she asked me if she can see it.
So I just point at my PFD and she just kinda put this
puzzled look on her face and asked my hows fishing[:/]
I dont know, man. Its just kinda funny I guess.

I think they are required to follow you in with a light on you for your safety since you didn't have lights. .
Now the persuit lights and siren would be utube fodder for sure. lol
These patrol boats are run by people and all different. Some are REAL different. lol
