Trout Traps Pro-350 - ponymont - 09-04-2009
I recently found a Trout Traps Pro-350 at a garage sale, but it didn't have the tube any more. I am looking for either the specific size of inner tube that it needs or hopefully a place to by the tube. It doesn't appear that the Trout Traps website exists anymore.

[cool][#0000ff]Most regulation size float tubes take a 20 inch truck tire tube. You have to go to a tire store that sells truck tires and tubes. No need to buy the more expensive radial tubes. But, there are a couple of options. The 8.25 X 20.00 is a lighter weight tube. It was the standard issue for such tubes as the Caddis models. If you want a bit more strength (and weight), go for the 10.00 X 20.00.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The long brass valve stem on a truck tube points straight out, and can be bothersome. Most tubers bend them off to the side...using the round ends of a crescent wrench or box end wrenches. If you do that, go slowly and work the bend carefully to avoid crimping the stem. Also, buy an an extra valve core and a valve stem tool for inserting and removing the core. Always keep the cap on when not airing or deflating the tube.[/#0000ff]

I just purchased a new tube at Burt Brothers Tire yesterday. Needed a 16" round for a caddis for my son. Total cost was $12.26. Also I was able to get the short stem instead of the long stem.
