After spending 7 hours on CJ yesterday, I can tell you where they are not !! [frown] Only caught 4 and they came in the Narrows. The Hump is still kicking out lots of crappie if you are rigged up right.......[sly]

We use the Airforce launch on the left side of the dam. (Facing the ouflow of the dam.) They have a new launch there now and it is really nice. Leaving the launch if you take a 90 degree turn and head for the far shore, (north ? ) and maybe a couple hundred yards from the shore there is a hump that is usually a hot place for crappie. Normally you will see several boats anchored out there.

Oh yes,,, what do most use? Many use crappie jigs, some use cut bait or worms.

Not sure in the fall but I usually fish 3 areas if I don't take the boat. 1 - Below the dam in the middle of the park, work the seam. 2 - The canal above the dam down at the first bridge and pumps. 3 - Cottonwoods campground, work the docks and dike area. One of these always works for me. Lots of people catch them on top of the spillway and below in the rocks.

there is a square shaped spot on the park side of the dam. its right against the turbin.

Fishing off the dam is usually a good spot for crappie. I was there the other night from about 10 PM until 4 AM and caught about 30 between 10" and 11.5". They started biting around midnight and I was getting them on every cast until the wind kicked up. In my experience, they're usually anywhere from 8' down to just off the bottom.

Use a tube jig and work vertically below the walkway, or cast out, let the jig fall to the bottom, and reel in slowly.
