List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - hella356 - 09-16-2009 From what I've found it seems to be Pudd, SFD, Hansen Dam. Any others? Thanks! For the most part its San Diego area. Which is not too far from Long Beach. Just do your homework and you will find them.[] Peter [signature] Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - macfly55 - 09-17-2009 if you go to sdfish.com you can find about 10 lakes in the san diego area that allow tubing.. I did some checking on it today but forgot the list at work.. but some of them have notices on their sites that say they have suspended it until the quagga muscles are under control.. MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [hella356] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - OlDirtyBasser - 09-21-2009 SD Area (off the top of my head): Both Otays, Barrett, Cuyamaca, Murray, Miramar, Hodges, Sutherland, El Capitan. Not sure about Wohlford. In case you're wondering, Lakes that do NOT allow tubes (again off the top of my head) in SD are: Jennings, Poway, Dixon. [signature] Re: [OlDirtyBasser] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - macfly55 - 09-21-2009 except for Barrett that is the same list I got the other day but never got back to posting.. Im not sure why I did not add Barrett... Wohlford used to allow tubing and personal watercraft but with the qm problem its been indefinitely suspended... MacFly [signature] Re: [hella356] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - macfly55 - 09-21-2009 just remembered two more san diego and south oc lake that allows tubing.. in San Diego up off the 15 you have Corona lake and Lake Elsinore... in sout Orange county you have Laguna Niguel lake.. MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - pontoonman - 09-22-2009 Hey guys, anything in that area for a float tube river rat? How are the Eastern sections of the San Diego river? Looking for some extended quiet sections of maximum class I water to float lazily along and do my thing. Here's something I ran into for those that like to do salt water in the area: http://www.squidoo.com/float_tube_fishing Thanks, Pon [signature] Re: [OlDirtyBasser] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - peter805 - 09-22-2009 [quote OlDirtyBasser]SD Area (off the top of my head): Both Otays, Barrett, Cuyamaca, Murray, Miramar, Hodges, Sutherland, El Capitan. I tought it was just the upper Otay. Peter [signature] Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - hella356 - 09-30-2009 Thanks, everyone! Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - macfly55 - 09-30-2009 I had thought it was upper only as well but ODB floats them all the time and the Otay Lakes website says upper and lower allow tubes... :-)... MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - peter805 - 09-30-2009 Isnt lower Otay infected with mussels? Maybe thats why they dont care anymore.[:/] Peter [signature] Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - macfly55 - 09-30-2009 Im honestly not sure... Im going primarily by the sdfish website and ODB's input.... MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [macfly55] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - peter805 - 10-01-2009 I see.............[] [signature] Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - pontoonman - 10-01-2009 Thanks for the list. I usually go out twice a week in TX. Very few, low fees and lots of free areas that are beautiful, here. Looking at all the SD fees and restrictions listed on tubing lake websites, I'd have to give it up, or at least cut back severely. Pon [signature] Re: [pontoonman] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - peter805 - 10-01-2009 Yeah Pon you are right, it sucks here. But there is this one place called Eastern Sierra that is very nice and free. Its about 6 hours drive but well wort it[] Im trying to go twice a year for few days. Peter [signature] Re: [hella356] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - ATFISHING - 10-02-2009 Lake Perris is one you can add, you can also tube without your waders when it gets to hot. I also heard somewhere that Casitas has a section you can tube. AT [signature] Re: [peter805] List of SoCal lakes that allow float tubes? - pontoonman - 10-02-2009 Yes, Peter beautiful areas around Sierra. Make a trip to the Lake Tahoe area every couple of years during July. Lots of smaller lakes are in the area that are beautiful. No fees AFAIK, and even with out of state license fee, still costs less than SD area lakes. Pon [quote peter805]Yeah Pon you are right, it sucks here. Yes, you can tube Lower Otay too but Uppers is tailor-made for tubing (no boats allowed, can be circled in about 2-3 hours of fishing). I used to tube the lower lake pretty much exclusively but last year I started focusing more on Upper.
