Hook1, Chick, LM Spots, 9/30, 2jigs - FishNews - 10-03-2009
Got on the water this afternoon and met 2jigs at ramp. Water was muddied up pretty good in the channell. Water was swift and the wind was blowing straight down river. The trolling motor got a good workout in just a few hours. We started out on a hump I have caught some real good fish on and 2jigs got a few spots and a nice largemouth about 2.3 to 3lbs. I hooked one on a spoon that pushed 4lbs. Big fish just didn't quite have the belly that the others have shown off. The hump wasn't really producing like normal so I was going to show him a flat in the back of a slough where they were schooling bait last Sunday. emoCool He had mentioned a point that they caught jumpers on that was actually leading into the same slough and on our way in we both spotted jumpers on that point emoIdea. We never made it to the flat. We caught several chunky bass right there on the point. Bait was swarming all over emoThumbsup. Water was 74.5 lots of current and we fished from 8 to 15 FOW. Caught fish on spoons, buddy, topwater and c-rig. I enjoyed meeting a new face and a great guy to fish with. Not a whole lot of weight but some nice fish anyway emoToast.
