Re: [iknowitallx10] 32 1/2" Walleye - iknowitallx10 - 10-17-2009

This fish weighed 12 lbs 2 oz. I didn't take it in and have it officially weighed considering the record is about 3 1/2 pounds heavier.. The girth was only 17" but the length was 32 1/2"! I'm not sure if that counts for anything other than brag'n rights! [Wink]

That is a sweet eye. If you don't mind me asking what kind of bait or lure was you using when you caught that big eye?

Thanks PacFan and I'm sure you are right about making friends! I think the biggest key to catching a fish like this is a lot of luck and putting in the hours. I just happened to have some luck go my way last night.

Hey 10xit, I've heard it said it is all in the name!!(LOL)
On an average a 10 pound plus walleye would carry four and a half to five pounds of eggs. A quarter of a million or so. If she was egged up she would have been the new state record. But still a real nice catch. An awesome experience. Have you thought about some one to mount it? I have a 12 but I would dig having a 17 pounder on the wall. Not to take any thing from your big fish story but did you hear there was a 38 pound catfish caught this summer in the creek. Thanks Pikeman go fish.
