Had a good day breaking in my new 12' Shakespeare PowerRod on some kitties below the dam this morning. I fished right off the wing wall using cut gizzard and I had to use 9oz. to get it to the bottom!!! emoEek LOL!!! I am so sore I feel like I got beat this morning!!! There were 2 highlights of the day, one was a 22lb blue that luckily I kept vertical and outta the boils. It was pretty hilarious when I got the big one up to the wall because he was @ the end of the rod and I was still 12ft. away and in quite a precarious situation because he was surfing the water and I couldn't get to him nor lift him over the railing. emoBang emoScratch luckily I had a fellow hold the rod as I lipped the fatty. The other was watching Greg, a CSCC student, reel in a monster drum on 4lb line while fishing for crappie. I wound up with around 8 fish and broke a couple decent ones off in the current.
