well, we got there around 1:30 PM. kind of late but still worked well for us.
as aaron, chris, and I were still getting our waders on by my sisters truck, I said, "oh S#!+, my tackle box!!!" yes, I forgot my tackle box at home. it had all of my plastics that i planned on using. however, I lucked out this time. both aaron and chris were willing to lend me some of their tackle.
we fished the plastics all day long. I fished the smoke colored kalin's grub pretty much all day and got half of my fish on it. then the sand bass just tore it up after about 5 or so fish, and it fell off of the lead head. so I asked chris if I could use another one of his baits. he agreed and let me use one of the only other grubs in his box. it was a rather big bait. maybe 4 or 5 inches in length, and rather bulky. but it was better than nothing. so i fished that around all of the boats and boat docks. I caught another 5 or so fish on that.
I ended up with 10 sand bass.
chris had 2 short halibut, 8 and 12" and 10 sand bass.
aaron had 4 sand bass and one CALICO bass!!! those aren't caught in the bays much.
