Thoughts on crawdad soft baits? - HATH - 02-06-2010

What are your opinions on crawdad soft baits? What successes or disappointments have you had with these? What colors do you prefer? Was bass your target species? Was intermittently bouncing it off the bottom your presentation? What type of rig did you use for that specific bait? Let me know what you think.

Soft plastic crawdads are an excellent pattern for both small and largemouth bass. On a football jig head, a trailer for a spider jig, or texas rigged is great. Fish'em in the rocks or the sticks.Stay near the bottom. I only catch bass on them.

I fish them for both small and large mouth bass very successfully. I fish them Texas and Carolina rigged bounced acrossed the bottom. I have caught browns on double tailed grubs.

.... and the jig and pig, of coarse.[Wink] That smallie in your pic is about as long as my best last year but it's twice as girthy. What a pig. That sucker must have been stripping drag like crazy.
