Recent Strawberrry conditions? - Hook_Setter - 02-08-2010 I was wondering what Strawberry was like this weekend? Is SLUSH still a problem? Any fish action? [signature] Re: [Hook_Setter] Recent Strawberrry conditions? - PIKEMAN99 - 02-08-2010 Yes we went Saturday with the boys. Snow was about 14 inches. Slush was at the edge of the lake. Went a 1,ooo yards away from the strawberry inlet. Caught fish in 32-15 feet. A few small ones. Also caught about 1/2 dozen slot size fish. Caught on cutter bugs with night crawler. I was the only one fishing. The boys did more playing on the snow mobiles than fishing. Turned out to be a beautiful day. Ended up wearing a T-shirt. The slush monster is a live and well. Nothing that the dragon can't take care of. [signature] Re: [PIKEMAN99] Recent Strawberrry conditions? - JohnnyTheHook - 02-08-2010 Gah...A group of us are planning a trip on valentines day. With the warmer weather hanging around the slush can only get worse! Hopefully we'll have better news of colder nights as the week progresses. Thanks for the info! [signature] Re: [UintaIce] Recent Strawberrry conditions? - kniephof - 02-08-2010 UintaIce, I can't speak for the current ice conditions, but snowshoes always seems to help combat the slush monster. I typically throw them in the sled just in case. [/quote] Fished it Saturday and there were pockets of slush out on the ice. Two of us were wearing show-shoes and the third one wished that he was (doesn't own any) wearing them. Go to the store and buy about 10 pairs of snowshoes for $50.00 a pair. 2. Drive to Strawberry, and take a little table and set it up next to your truck where ever you park. Place the snowshoes on the table with pricetags of $100 per pair. 3. When you've sold all the snowshoes, take your 100% profit, don't fish, and just go home. If I would have followed this advice myself on Saturday, I would have doubled my money...and caught just as many fish. [frown] However, as it was, I got a really good workout, didn't have to do any work at home, and didn't catch any fish. [signature] Re: [ceedubya] Recent Strawberrry conditions? - ceedubya - 02-08-2010 I was there last Wed. I went out from the marina towards Haws pulling a heavy 3 man shed with my wheeler. (Deep snow) I got about 3/4 the way across and hit slush.
