Change in daily trout limits for American and Black Lakes - FishNews - 03-11-2010 Action: The daily limit for trout is changed. Only two trout 14 inches or greater may be retained as part of the 5 fish bag limit. Effective date: March 6 through April 30, 2010.<br /> Species affected: Trout other than kokanee<br /> Location: American Lake (Pierce Co.) Black Lake (Thurston Co.)<br /> Reason for action: These daily catch limit rules are intended to extend the time larger trout (including triploid trout) are available ensuring opportunity for more anglers.<br /> Other information: The trout daily limit will remain at five (5) fish per the general statewide rule; however only two (2) fish over 14 inches may be retained within the five (5) fish daily limit.<br /> Information contact: For Pierce County lakes contact Mike Scharpf (360) 902-2710 or Hal Michael (360) 902-2659, Hal.Michael@dfw.wa.gov .
