Had a great day on the Big G today with a friend of mind that lives just below Guntersville. We put in at the ball fields ramp at Browns Creek / Hwy 79 I believe, Just as we took off about 9am. EST the steady rain set in for about two hours but then cleared up to be a nice day. Water temp. was 43-47 degs where we were fishing today. We stayed in the Browns Creeks area using Lucky Craft Bone & Lemon Shad colored Jerk Baits, The bass did'nt mind the rain. Had several good keepers in that area with the best on the Jerk Bait being just over 4lbs. After the rain we went looking for some warmer water and found some 47 deg. water at the enterance to the Guntersville Yaht Club, We tried a few different lures then I pulled the lure of chose today out of the bag that gave us one of those days that you dream of on the water. We boated ten keepers in a 75 yard area on a xcalibar XR50 Hallographic Chrome w/ Blue back, Just alittle helpful note, It also just Knocked Once! Barry's best one went 7.3lbs and my best was a 6.5lber., also several of the others were in the 3-4lbs range. After that we headed back to the Browns Creek area under Hwy 79 past the big power lines and worked a Carolina Rigged Watermelon Lizzard around a small Island that looked like the birds had killed all of the trees on. Barry picked up a few Buck bass there to finish up the day. Our best five stringer would have been in the 22-23lb. range with the 19 keepers that we keep note on. Good Fishing to CFF Clan! emoAngler
