Hello, I am new here. Recently, I was fishing in a very small pond in South Florida and I was casting a 1/16 oz. tube and bouncing it on bottom while reeling in. After I let it fall, once it had a heavy weight on it. I thought I was snagged but then it started moving. It came off and I had some slime on my line which usually only happens when I am cat-fishing.
Also, I went back later with hot dogs and got hits. they would only come about halfway up before falling off. they looked about 1-2 ft and gold/silver.

I am no expert but if you think it was a cat get some 3/0 or 4/0 hooks. Put a piece of cut bait where legal on the hook and leave a make sure that your hook only goes through a very small piece of the skin. This leaves the hook almost totally exposed. use only enough weight to get it to the bottom. This should work about everywhere. Ron
