Steelhead fishing rule change on Cowlitz River - FishNews - 03-23-2010
Action: Allow retention of steelhead with a clipped right ventral fin and a healed scar at the location of the clipped fin.
Effective dates: Feb 13, 2010
Species affected: Late winter steelhead<br />
Location: Cowlitz River from boundary markers at the mouth to Mayfield Dam.<br />
Reasons for action: Right ventral fin marked steelhead are surplus to broodstock needs.<br />
Other information: Right ventral marked steelhead are no longer being released in the upper Cowlitz basin.<br />
