Flaming Gorge Fishing Report- 4/3/10 - Ryno - 04-08-2010 It's a late report, but I figured I'd post it anyway in the event that some anglers are considering a fishing trip with good weather forecasted this upcoming weekend. I left the boat in the garage last weekend being the wind was so intense. I still ventured out to walk the shore and sight fish some early spring rainbows. Ice has all but deteriorated and the [#ff4040]fishing was fantastic[/#ff4040]! Big concentrations of rainbows were easily identified by surface activity, and where I caught one I proceeded to catch several others. Fish were stacked on shallow points in the backs of draws and along the main channel. [inline Rainbow.jpg] I ended up catching about 20 bows in 2 hours and kept four for a tasty meal. Fish ranged from 14-19 inches. I tried several types of grubs and caught fish, but my favorite was a Yamamoto grub (christmas color) rigged on a 3/8 oz. jighead. Most the bites came on the fall so keep a tight line! Hope it helps, Ryno [signature] Re: [Ryno] Flaming Gorge Fishing Report- 4/3/10 - jacksonlaker - 04-08-2010 Sometimes the best early season fishing is done without the boat. I get mine out of storage next week and I am going to try to get the Gorge next weekend. Spring is here !! except in Wyoming ! [signature] |
