AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - fishfinder401 - 05-24-2010 CAN ANYONE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT WENT WRONG, I WAS FISHING FROM THE BEACH AT MY HOUSE AND HOOKED INTO A STRIPER AROUND 30LBS MAYBE LESS, IT THRASHED AROUND EVERYWHERE AND THEN IT WAS OFF, I CHECKED, ALL THE HOOKS WERE PERFECTLY SHARP, DOES ANYTHING SOUND WRONG, I AM GOING TO TRY AGAIN IN A DAY OR TWO SO ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS AND DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU . [signature] Re: [fishfinder401] AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - gdn443 - 05-24-2010 He just shook the hook loose. Try a circle hook, they seem to stay in better on stripers. Straight shank hooks seem to come loose even though you set the hook. Happens to me when useing sluggos, now I just use a circle hook on the nose. You do lose fish on topwater plugs, haven't lost many while trolling as it sets the hook pretty well. [signature] |
