Note from moderator-Please read - windriver - 06-02-2010

This is just a note to talk about something that seems to come up on a yearly basis. It seems to me that the BFT-Idaho board is growing and I am amazed by all of the good people we have that contribute their hard earned knowledge without asking for anything in return.

That being said, there are also a lot of people who lurk in the shadows and take without giving anything in return. There really is nothing wrong with that it is a free forum and we understand that some are not ready to join us on the open forum.

The problem that I am worried about is the number of people who are posting reports or good questions without any kind of response. I know some people do not feel qualified to answer questions or just don't want to post to stroke someones ego. The fact of it is if people do not get any kind of feedback when they post a report they will quit posting.

Don't think I am saying we should feel obligated to respond to every thread. However, we should welcome new posters, give a congratulations when appropriate, and be helpful when possible. Without positive stimuli the board will crash.

Thanks

I will make an effort to share any info i can get and you can always count on me to congratulate anyone on a good day fishing!

I dont understand why some fisherman try to hold so many secrets and refuse to be happy for someone who outfishes them!

If it wasn't for yard work I might have some reports to post. Maybe if I tell my wife that Windriver says I need to post a fishing report she will let me go [sly].

I just love to talk fishing! Right, wrong or indifferent it's always great to read and respond to peoples reports, thoughts and questions! Without them great boards crash. I think I'm on a bunch of them every day for that reason.

Windriver,

In this cyber world of misfit anglers, you once again prove to be the voice of reason. You do a great job on this board, I agree with your take and appreciate all your efforts.

Great post, Windriver.

There's not a lot of us from the Southwest part of the state unfortunately and I've noticed when a post from this area gets posted, not a lot of responses to it. I love reading the posts from the Southeast but usually don't respond because I very rarely make it over to that part of the state and I'm sure that's how they feel about our side. I will try harder to throw in my two cents more often. [cool]

I am not from Idaho but I do fish there occasionally and I whole heartedly agree with you. This is a great spot to find and communicate with fellow anglers and friends. Hey I even made some new ones because of BFT.[cool]

I agree with what your saying. I have been over to the "West side" a couple of times in the last month for different events. I noticed that number of potential BFT contributors and friends is quite large over there.[cool]

Maybe is what we need is a good "Westside" moderator to spread the good word.

It is remarkable how big our state is and how diverse the fishing interests can be. I think our states diversity of fishing interests is what makes the forum great.
